Philip Acton

Phil began his career in private practice before joining West Sussex County Council and later co-founding Philips Surveyors LLP with Phil Wiltshire. While experienced across all sectors, his particular expertise lies in rural developments, residential properties, and historic/conservation projects. Outside of work, Phil enjoys spending time on his farm, where he manages his pedigree herd of Sussex cattle, and pursuing his passion for all aspects of the countryside.

Phil Wiltshire also began his career at West Sussex County Council before co-founding Philips Surveyors LLP with Phil Acton. Experienced across all sectors, Phil has particular expertise in commercial and public sector projects. Outside of work, you'll usually find him indulging his passion for all things automotive, whether tinkering with his cars or behind the wheel of his vintage fire engine.

William Court
MRICS IMaPS
Will studied at Kingston University before gaining valuable experience with Atkins in London and later Nash & Partners in Chichester. He joined Philips Surveyors in 2008 and became a Partner in 2022. Although he works across all sectors, Will has developed particular expertise in education projects, where his approachable nature and collaborative style are valued by clients and colleagues alike. Outside of work, you'll invariably find Will on the golf course or supporting his beloved Arsenal FC.

Adam Knight
MRICS
Adam recently joined Philips Surveyors as a Chartered Building Surveyor, having successfully completed his APC following four years with Atkins. He is an excellent communicator who has quickly established strong working relationships with both colleagues and clients. Adam approaches his work with professionalism, enthusiasm and a positive attitude. He is a motivated and conscientious surveyor with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work and providing an excellent service to clients.

Matthew Brockhurst
ACIAT
Matt is experienced in working across a wide range of project types, although his particular strength lies in his in-depth knowledge and understanding of the planning system. His primary role is the preparation, submission and coordination of planning applications, including producing planning drawings and the wide range of supporting statements required to successfully navigate the planning process.

Gavin Mustion
MCIAT
Gavin began his career in land surveying before joining Philips Surveyors. As a Chartered Architectural Technologist, he brings extensive technical knowledge and practical construction experience across a diverse range of project and building types. Gavin is primarily responsible for producing technical and design drawings throughout the tender and construction stages, ensuring projects are delivered with accuracy and attention to detail.

Thomas Rhodes
ACIAT
With a background in construction, Tom has a broad understanding of a wide range of project types, enabling him to confidently produce drawings at every stage of the design process. His expertise includes feasibility studies, planning drawings, and detailed technical drawings for tender and construction purposes.

Sarah Hagan
Sarah is our Office Manager, overseeing the day-to-day administration of the business. She manages our accounts and invoicing, while also ensuring we maintain compliance with key industry accreditations, including CHAS and Constructionline. Her organisational skills and attention to detail help keep the business running smoothly.

Dennis
Dennis is Will's cocker spaniel and, by all accounts, a very good boy. Exceptionally well-behaved, he is equally at home in the office, out on site, or accompanying Will on the golf course. An avid Arsenal supporter, Dennis enjoys long walks on the beach and playing in the park with his canine friends when he's not hard at work.
